My partner and I are regular and enthusiastic patrons of Weatherspoon's in Rugeley and Lichfield . However, I was disappointed today in the Lichfield branch to find that there was no option to order a breakfast meal with poached or even scrambled eggs. The only choice was a fried egg which I loathe, so I went for the only other option - beans on toast . This dish arrived with the beans soaked in tomato sauce, making the bread soggy and inedible. One of the better Wetherspoons we have been to. Food was prepared and served quickly. Only scored lower than I would have wanted because there were lots of free table when we arrived but they all had finished dinner plates and glasses etc on them which remained until the time we finished our meal. I think they just need another member of staff to clear the tables but then I understand they may have been short on staff that day due to the unforeseen.
Visited today Friday Dec 8th during Christmas shopping trip. I had a curry/rice and the other half had a breakfast. Both excellent. We commented whilst we were visiting how all the staff were cheerful and helpful. Thanks for a lovely lunch everyone, the pub had a lovely atmosphere, and we noticed that you had put up Christmas decorations 🎄🎄🎄
Absolutely useless management and staff, the melt in the picture is downright stupid! Waiting for me to pay whilst someone else is on the till instead of pouring the drinks and coming back! Nil customer service and downright rude, please and thank you cost nowt! The other staff instead of serving the polite queue serve ignorant tossers that walk up the bar because they are special! The shift manager in the pink shirt at 15:45 on the 23/08/23 is useless, 6 people skiving in the glass wash area instead of working a massive queue and he condones it! Such a shame because the pub is beautiful
It was very busy on the Sat we went.. Which is fine.. You cannot book a table.. Just go in and search or wait till any are available. We did find two for our party of 7. One table high up with stools and other lower between us it was fine just put the ones on stools that could get up there unlike me lol. The main meals were nice i had burger and chips.. A little greasy tangy tasting but i guess if i want chips it's expected. My sister had another type of burger and she got lots of onion rings and she gave me one and they were spot on. The tables were one in front one behind so we turned our chairs to chat which was fine too.. As not seen my sis in ages so good to chat. I've alway's been a fan of Whether spoons and it was me who chose the pub. I've not been to one in years though so was looking forwards to it. The only downfall was that theirs no Sundae type icecreams in tall glass. We did choose some with icecream.. But the icecream was vertially melted by time we got it. Plus couple of us tried crunchy desert with icecream their was hardly anything in the bowl on receiving it. The service was good and didn't keep us waiting long in between meals.
