It wouldn't be fair for me to do a review of this pub as family on the wife's side run it ! But saying that , it's a great back street pub with pool tables and on wall screens showing sports. They also have bands and singer's at the weekends. Outside is now covered over with all tables and chairs. Any weather is now possible for outside entertainment . Massive outside area " covered " with entertainment on a regular basis with free admission. Great prices with great atmosphere ๐just put up the prices but still reasonably priced
I was there in 2015 with my friend Terry Blackshaw. Drank Bass Ale all night long, got drunk but it was worth it, has I came over from Winnipeg Canada back to my home town. Love the pub great Atmosphere and a great landlady and landlord. I shall be back in March 2023 and I will be dropping by again.
Cracking little pub. We pop in quite often when they've got bands on out the back. Reasonable prices, nice atmosphere and friendly locals!
Absolutely phenomenal pub with lovely staff. The food and drinks here are absolutely sublime. It's very comfortable with nice ambiance. The staff here are very welcoming and are a pleasure to talk to. They even barred this 'Vladimir Putin' geezer, said they'd wreck him if he ever dared step in the property. Not sure who that bloke is but it's a shame for him to miss out on such a lovely experience. 5/5 I'd definitely recommend!
Had a brilliant afternoon, watching, listening to and really enjoying 3LessThan5 - a fabulous band. It was fantastic to get back to some 'normality'. All the staff are welcoming & friendly too, nice, little boozer with a great outdoor space (which is where the band played). All covid secure too. Highly recommend ๐

Popular Victorian back-street corner terrace local, with small basic public bar and a larger smart L-shaped lounge. Interesting etched windows: "VAULTS" for the public bar, "SMOKE ROOM" for the lounge.

Built in the 1860s, this double-fronted terrace pub was the Truman's Brewery tap until the brewery closed in 1971 (see mirror and pictures in public bar). Various owners followed until it was bought by the Burton Bridge Brewery in 1996.
