Had a great evening out in Frome's Bath Arms for a proper sit down meal. After a little confusion on locating it's entrance (it shares one with Finiggans Bar), we were shown to our table. STARTERS: I had the Calamari & my wife had halloumi fries, both were generous servings, delicious & very reasonably priced! A great start! MAINS: I had there renowned black rock fillet steak with triple fried chips and a garlic sauce, my wife had a goats cheese topped burger with chippotts (¼er'ed roast potatoes turned into a chip somehow) which she loved. I did not think the black rock plate would stay hot enough to cook my fillet throughout my meal, but by the end of my meal, it remained hot to sizzle my steak to perfection ! Service was excellent, the atmosphere also great and the price for two we were very happy with. Will we go again! YES we will! It was our first visit and the reputation of this Bath Arms was fully validated and exceeded! Well done!
We live locally so we have not booked a room here but the food is exceptional! particularly the black rock steaks that are good value for money when it comes to food, this place is definitely a hitting gem and the staff some that have become familiar with us 😂 (as we try to go at least twice a month) are very friendly and down to earth I Think it’s a place that brings out of towners and towers together they offer a wide range of drinks/cocktails and the food menu always has a offer on.. if your in the area I highly recommend paying them a visit
Today we had a fantastic Sunday lunch. Hats off to the chef it was pretty damn perfect. We find it so hard to find a good roast, so we were blown away today with this roast. We have very high standards and not easily impressed. We were visiting Frome from Cardiff for the weekend. Only negative was that service was slow with the younger staff, that could be improved for sure. Also from the outside this pub does not look inviting, bordering on something from faulty towers. However on entering the interiors improve. The food was outstanding. So don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Thank you for making our Sunday.
Sunday roast was lovely, however the slow service and overkill off clipboards for the more senior staff seemed almost laughable. We waited quite a long time for our food, had to go to the bar to fetch drinks as service was so slow and only received crayons for our younger ones in the party after asking 4 times!
Not the place to go if you have any desire to have a meal in under 1.5hrs. Took forever to place our order as they seemed to forget us. Others arrived after us and ate before we did. Over 40 mins from ordering to food arriving. It was very nice food but the speed lets them down. No one asked how it was, when taking the plates away didn't say anything other than have you finished.
