We had a great weekend away here. The entertainment and facilities for kids were brilliant. The food choices were great, papa John's pizza, burger king, fish and chip shop. Service in the main restaurant was very poor, taking 45 minutes to serve a sandwich and 2 kids meals. The food was also poor quality, so we didn't use the restaurant again. Site was good, but dogs kept fouling the paths, and there was no sight of staff doing rounds to check the site. Still had a great time, pity about the restaurant and irresponsible dog owners.
We were given a caravan in North Low which is about 1.5 miles from the main facilities. It was a really nice caravan but not the most convenient location with two small children. The site has loads to do - unfortunately due to the weather (we visited late October) the outside stuff was cancelled by Haven. The activities we did get to do were fun and started from £2 so something for every budget. (There are also free activity sessions too) The pool area is large and has a slide but isn't as good as Haven Thorpe Park (Cleethorpes) We didn't use the restaurant on this visit but by the queue it seemed very popular and had a range of gluten free items. I was pleased that the mini mart had a small gluten free section too. Overall, it's a really nice site and we're planning to go back in better weather!
Just back after spending a week here. Caravan wasn't very clean at all. We had things missing also. Live lounge was awful as you could never get a seat unless you went down there for 4.30pm. Lightning was very poor around the park itself most nights we had to turn on a torch to see where we were going. The pool was very dirty, changing rooms had doors missing and the ones that did didn't lock. I think what you pay for a week here the place should certainly be up to standard, for me it's very run down and dirty. I certainly wouldn't return here with my family.
Booked a saver caravan here, excellent pitch site and caravan immaculate with well appointed furnishings and cooking facilities. Nice touch to have small toilet in main bedroom as well as family shower room. We used van as a base to explore the area so didn't use entertainment etc but all areas looked clean and well kept. Only negative was high priced mini market so recommend if on a budget do as we did and bring what you need with you. Would certainly return here based on this visit.
This is by far the best caravan holiday me and my partner and 3 kids have been on. There are loads to do like horse riding,peddle boats, clip and climb, mini 4x4/ buggy, which are just some of the activities we done but there is a few down sides like the swimming baths stunk of wee in the changing rooms and the restaurant was like microwave food I would definitely go again but you need to book stuff well in advance because there are far to many caravans and when it's busy you will not get on half the activities and you have to pay for everything you do so take plenty of spending money and if you don't drive you can have a long walk to the main facilities and the lighting is very poor on a night like streetlights so take a torch no jokes
