This is my second stop here. This time we had lunch. The food was good, above average for pub grub, above what you would get in one of the big pub chains, and reasonably priced. The staff were great and friendly. The reason for 4 stars is that there was no atmosphere, felt very much a locals pub, and it was a quiet Saturday afternoon. Lots of room to sit out in the garden. I will be going back again.
Just finished a sirloin steak cooked to perfection and sides really nice, my wife had scampi she said the scampi was very nice with a nice crispy coating not batter. Service friendly and helpful my manager says the wine very good, a nice choice of beers, this is the second time we have been here the atmosphere is something to enjoy. Z
Really good food. The staff were excellent. Down side, only low alcohol beer was the 00 lager which has 00 taste. There are some really good ones available from other breweries. It won't stop me going back though.
Lovely meal at a very competitive price. Pleasant accommodating staff for our table of eleven guests. I only wish I had room for one of the puddings after my dinner! Smallish carpark, but plenty of parking spaces on the wide road outside. I am looking forward to visiting again very soon.
We had a late lunch here (Friday 20th Aug 2021) and it was great. The guys were helpful and timely with service. The menu is nicely varied and the food served was of excellent quality. The sorbet ice cream was particularly good. I enjoyed a pint of draft cider and a pint of Landlord, both of which tasted refreshingly pure. Signs of a well kept cellar and pipes. Well done Carpenters! We hope to visit again soon. It would be nice to see some stuff for kids, like crayons/pencils and colouring sheets, but you still get five stars for a thoroughly good pub experience. Thank you.
