About us

Sitting in an area steeped in history, The Three Cups sits on a site said to have been a camp for soldiers waiting to take part in The Battle of Stamford Bridge. Inside our old building is an ancient draw well 23 feet deep, first discovered by the landlord Wilson Lee during building works in the 1960's. This well is still visible today through a porthole in the floor of the pub.

A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.

The food was good, always is. The service however was very poor, the waiting staff are all very young & have little to no clue how to serve customers, we sat at our table basically being ignored, a waitress took a dirty cups from our table, not a word spoken, not a can I take this, would you like anything else, just took the empty cup & walked off! We sat for maybe an hour being ignored, waiting staff were walking around cleaning tables & rearranging tables for the next day without a word to us. As a share holder I feel this is just not good enough, untrained staff & no manager in sight.

Most enjoyable late lunch experience - polite and patient waiters, comfortable ambience, excellent choice of menu, delicious main course and desert. Plates weren't cold but they could have been hotter to stay warm until completing the main course and the coffee could have been a little stronger but, all in all, almost perfect! Wish I lived closer to be able to visit more often.

Fantastic food, service was amazing and food came out quickly. Very welcoming staff, particularly our server Josh who did an excellent job all round! Recommending to friends & family and we’ll definitely be coming back

The menu was excellent. I had a chicken burger and my friend had the chicken schnitzel. It tasted lovely but the presentation was underwhelming. The burger was nice, chips were fine but could have done with a garnish side or something. We ordered our deserts - sticky toffee pudding and a crumble. Unfortunately both were cold and so was the custard. Staff were very attentive towards this. I do think the menu is upper class but the food coming through maybe didn’t match. We do love it there though and will come back.

Absolutely faultless Sunday roast had the trio of beef, pork , turkey . Staff are brilliant polite, and anything is no bother . It's a relaxed atmosphere with pleasant surroundings. Would definitely recommend highly 😉 👍
