About us

The Inn has a wonderful traditional bar, stocked with local beers, hand pulled ales and a considered wine list. The bar also accommodates informal dining, with large wooden tables and roaring open fires. The five downstairs areas within the pub provide distinctive rooms each with their own charms.

Located on the first floor, the private dining room and coffee lounge are accessed by the beautiful fifties swirling staircase, with our trademark glass chandelier taking centre stage. They provide two separate, sumptuous spaces; the coffee loft up in amongst the beams of the oldest part of the building and the adjacent dining room, ideal for drinks and lunch or dinner. These decadent rooms combine rich tartans and luscious velvets to offer the ideal private space for friends and family.

Outside, the rear courtyard is a fantastic space for outside eating and drinking and for summer barbeques.

Unfortunately, a really average experience for a Sunday Roast. Waited well over 90mins for dried out, overcooked food. Such a shame as it's a lovely pub, with friendly staff (albeit a slow service) who apologised, but we've had two experiences here now with sub-par food, so won't be coming back.

Disappointing!! Charming pub with a lovley atmosphere but we were forgotten about several times, the food was ok but there was not enough for the £15+ that Sunday dinner costs. Other people also complained to staff while we were here.

The Inn oozes stereotypical Yorkshire charm, rich with every element you would wish for in a pub. Just reading the menu gives you the comfort that whatever you choose the food is going to be fantastic, maybe because the menu reads like a best selling novel, maybe I just have a feel for these things. Quality is what makes or breaks an establishment, just looking at the rings that cuddle my pint glass as I sup the well recommended pint of ale, tells me that this place has high standards. Clearly a pub that takes it’s primary function so serious is going to be best suited to serve me a culinary delight too.

An absolute must. One of my favourite restaurants. The staff are great and the food is genuinely knockout. The pictures don't do it justice. The pub has a fantastic, old feel and has a great range of ales, beers and wine.
