We visited on the off chance and we were made very welcome along with our 3 tiny dogs. The food was lovely, especially the gravy on the Yorkshire puddings that my husband had. I dipped a few chips in it. The small appetite menu is perfectly sized if you don't eat much and not restricted to just children. The staff were very friendly. I would 100% recommend to anyone in the area. Lovely wee hidden gem.

β€œEat here!!!!” This is definitely the place to go if you're looking for dog friendly, child friendly, wheelchair friendly. We visited for my son's birthday and the staff couldn't have been more attentive and lovely. The food was fantastic, atmosphere relaxed and all the staff were amazing. What a great place to eat. Thank you to everyone who made us all (10 of us) feel special.

We, as a family of 6, decided to call in at The Old Scalby Mill to get some lunch and a drink. There was a small queue out the door, but nothing too bad. When we got to the bar, we asked if they had seating inside for 6 ( plenty of available seating outside but it was rather blowy ), and although they were full inside, they managed to accommodate us. The food was all prepared to order ( I assume the jacket spuds were already cooked ) and was top quality. I had the ba on cheese burger, which was probably the best burger I've ever had. It was a proper handmade burger, and there was no excess fat on the bacon. The onion rings were massive, bigger than my sons hand, in fact. All in all, it was a great lunch experience. Everyone enjoyed their food, and there were clean plates all around.

Wow, fantastic food, the pie was absolutely lovely, we ordered 3 pies and 2 were successful but was too big a portion for my grandad to conquer, he says 20 years ago he'd have licked the plate clean 😝
