Staggs bar, officially The Volunteer Arms, has been owned and operated by the same family since 1858
It is a friendly local, famous for its many guest real ales and around 30 rums (including the original Sailor Jerry, sold on special occasions).
There is a main bar with additional seating in a small lounge, a larger lounge and bar open on Friday and Saturday nights and a beer garden for those lovely sunny Scottish summers!.
This is a classic bar well worthy of a visit - a traditional old bar with a great choice of Cask ales and top class service.
One of the best pubs in the area. Excellent choice of cask beer, and always high quality unlike some other establishments (eg. that other big place across from brunton theatre). Decent prices too.
A great, friendly bar. It has multiple ale taps and is very popular for a reason. As far as I know they don't serve food but considering the sheer volume of places that serve food a short distance away it isn't an important factor at all. Definitely a place to go to on a Sunday afternoon to watch sports and have a drink with friends.
Traditional real pub, the Citra pint was as good a pint as I've ever had. Staff great, toilet area is first class. No food when I was there but crisps etc.
Great pub. Selection of ales best in Musselburgh/Edinburgh area. Beer festival last Sunday - superb. End was a bit foggy tho 😀😀
