Our Swimmer is the Winner of the 2016 Time Out Love London Awards for Best Pub in Holloway and is it any wonder?
For starters, it’s a bit of a looker with a lovely outdoor terrace to the front and high-ceilinged goodness on the inside. Our fireplace is surrounded by gilded mirrors and swimming memorabilia, which you can stare at whilst drinking your way through one of our brilliant real ales and eating your way through our fantastic menu. Or bask in the sunshine in our lovely beer garden and enjoy one of our fresh gin based cocktails. You see, we basically have everything you need, apart from you. So come on in and say hi.
We’ve been told that our drinks selection is superior. Well, we’re not one to brag, but we know our way round a cask of ale. We offer a variety of local and world beers on tap and bottled. If you love a gin as much as we do then you’re in for a right treat because we stock an extensive selection from the finest local and national distillers, our current favourite is Rock n Rose Scottish gin with fresh rosemary and lemon over ice. If you’ve had your fill of booze for the week then you’ll be pleased to know that we also pay attention to our soft drinks which include the Fentimans and Fever-Tree ranges.
Traditional English pub. In a quiet street off the main road. Good wide ranging food and beer menu, traditional and modern, great fish n chips. Good prices. Very friendly staff . Wheelchair accessible. Nice outdoor covered area
Not only is this pub top-notch, with delicious food and beers, but the staff are absolute gems! I left a chocolate advent calendar behind for over a week and those legends didn't touch a single piece. That's some serious self-control and customer service! 5 stars
On a return visit back down Holloway Road, I decided to call back in the Swimmer at the Grafton Arms to make sure this visit was as good as my last, and I was not disappointed. This time I ordered the hearty Sausage & Mash and presentation was what you'd expect. 3 tasty Cumberland Sausages on top of a creamy Mash with buttered carrots and green beens on the side. Full of flavour and filling. I know I'll be calling back again..
Great pub, lots of seating is outside, but mostly the quality of the food is superb. A little pricey but worth the extra for the raised level. Ive had a couple of wagu burgers and a roast here.. always delicious, but little gems like pulled ox cheek and chorizo shepherds pie and other small plates are the real winners imho. Highly recommended
A truly English pub with a lot of locals. Nicely priced menu and beers on tap. Layed back atmosphere with a free jukebox and monthly comedic acts. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely recommend.
