The service was great but unfortunately they need to decide on what type of restaurant they are. Their Italian food was a poor imitation, but their Indian food was very good. My advice would be stick with what you're good at. I didn't appreciate being overcharged in the end. It was a set lunch menu and they tried to charge for 5 people when there were only 3 of us.
My wife and I lived in this hotel for 1 week during the pandemic. It was not an easy time, but I am only now writing a review about it, because the hotel staff did everything they could for us at the highest level. I especially want to highlight and praise the chef who prepared our food during that difficult time. I remember the food was brought directly to our room and left outside the door, but the food was incredible. It was Italian cuisine. I had never tried this kind of food before, and I still haven’t tried it now. It was a super food based on pasta varieties. Every day there was different food. I still have the taste of that food in my mouth. We would like to say thank you to the chef who prepared our food. He may no longer work at this hotel, but thanks to him, and thanks to the staff who took care of us then. We walked along the golf course every day and we felt incredibly good then. It was spring, April 2020. Thank you dears.
Went for lunch with friends. Surprised to see Indian options on the dual menu, which we all then decided to pick. Food was lovely. Service was excellent. Our one year old daughter was even welcomed by other diners as she crawled all over the dining room after we had eaten.
Went to the Alba restaurant. A split Indian / British menu. Kashmiri korma was ok quite creamy. The steak pie was not so nice. Very salty gravy chewy beef and a puff pastry the height of a block of flats. Any attempt to cut the pastry just tested an explosive mess. Drinks orders took so long to arrive we had our starter before the first round arrived. Waiting for a coffee was so long I was tempted to cancel and just pay the bill. Place was very clean and well decorated. Very noisy chatter between staff and some guests. Unlikely to be back.
Was at a Wedding here, was a bit disappointed in a couple of things, everything was done in the 1 room, the ceremony, meal & evening, in-between each we all had to go downstairs for about an hour while they reset the room, that was a bit inconvenient as there were guest having meals in the restaurant, with waiters going through the small area we were in with large trays of food. To get a drink from the bar, you had to order and pay at the front desk with only 1 person there, then, you had to try and squeeze through everyone to get to the bar to pick up your drink, and again there was only 1 person serving. My second gripe wad lack of staff, apart from that, the staff they had were really nice and attentive.
