Great free house just outside Faversham town center. You need to make the effort to come here, as it is a great pub with well kept real ale and ciders. The pub interior is a mini-museum to the Royal Navy and as an ex-matelot, I felt really at home here 😎. The beer is very well kept, and the pub is spotless. The bar staff are lovely and the ambience welcoming and friendly. In addition, the price list is really, really affordable! The only thing keeping this off a five-star rating, is the amount of instructions left for the clientele. You are basically told where to sit, how to sit, what to say, what not to say and even in the toilets which facility to use 😂. This might be amusing, however, looking at other reviews, I think this is how the landlord actually is 😬. I will come again and update my review, if I find this is simply for jest 😂😂😂 as I would love to give this a five-star rating 😎
An excellent choice of real ale, kept in perfect condition. There's a comfortable function / darts room at the back. The landlord has a reputation for being a bit grumpy sometimes, but generally a welcoming pub with a decent pint and he was cheerful when I visited.. I was there for a pint and a meeting in the back room so I can't comment on food. I like the constantly changing choice of real ale available.
Absolute gem of a pub. So much history, character and charm. Wonderful management who made the visit warm and welcoming. Dog friendly. Lots of quiet nooks and crannies to chill in. If anyone visiting UK want to see a fantastic example of a historic pub - this is the place to go!
Landlord Jim is a legend. Nice bloke. Nice beers. Even nicer beer garden. If you’re in the area stay away from Spoons and Limes on the hi street and give The Elephant a visit.
Quality ales across the ever changing pumps. Humorous Guvnor. Knowledgeable. Clean facilities. Can't really ask for more.
