We had lunch at the restaurant and the food and services was outstanding. The fire place was so romantic and super cozy. We were visiting from Miami and we had fish and chips , so delicious . Maybe next time we stay at the hotel, we love the Cotswold .

Spent three nights here exploring the Cotswolds. All the staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. The breakfast service was excellent, clearing plates quickly and topping up the continental selection regularly. Had two evening meals, again service was excellent and the food was very tasty and well presented. The village itself is beautiful. Would recommend staying here to explore the Cotswolds.

Lovely room. Clean and comfortable. Has a safe and fridge with milk in on arrival. Breakfast was good. Very short, pretty walk into town (Bourton on Water) with several places to eat. Attached pub cosy and friendly. We didn't eat there but the restaurant looked busy. Pub loos were spotless đź‘Ť

A lovely hotel, we stayed two nights in room 1, a spacious room with a small lounge area overlooking the car park so busy outside during the day but quiet at night. The cooked breakfast and service were excellent and we ate in the Tap room one night, again very good food and service. The only small negative was no milk or water in the room on arrival, otherwise all good.

Had dinner at the tap room. Tapas were only available. Not a fan of tapas but I ordered 4 plates from the menu. Calamari, Bacon chop, goat cheese & lamb chop. All were satisfactory so I ordered another set of the same because of size portions for me hence the reason I don’t like tapas. The second order was no comparison. Very overcooked calamari , extremely fatty lamb chop and also there were 2 chops the first time and one fatty chop the second. The service staff were exceptional, kind. I guess what bothered us is the “discretionary service charge” of 10 pounds on an 70 pound meal check. Coming from the USA myself, I am used to tipping however I am not used to it being forced on a bill. I could have asked for it to be removed but I did not. This discretionary service charge is just wrong. I doubt the service staff get paid as low as service staff in America but this is not the point. Tipping is a customer decision not a business owners. I am also Australian adopted into the American culture, that has also has worked in hospitality for over 30 years so I have a pretty good understanding of the culture of countries that top and countries that don’t. English and Australians alike are nicknamed as canoes in America because they don’t tip! Don’t go to America & refuse to tip and expect Americans to come here and tip you.
