Dating back to the 19th Century, a local farmer took out a loan to purchase the building that he turned into an inn that would in turn become The Thatched House. A popular pub full of heritage, records from 1912 show that an average of 175 beer barrels a year were sold over a period of ten years, whilst bottled beers sold at a rate of 60 dozen per year.

Came in last Sunday for a lovely roast with my family. The food was excellent, all the staff are so lovely. We weren't waiting for anything, the young girl who brought out the food for us was excellent; nothing was too much trouble including topping up our drinks! We love this place, we will definitely be back!
From start to finish the service was very attentive. Our waitress Ella was friendly, fast and made sure we was always happy, making recommendations and knowing the menu well. She is very good at what she does and is an absolute credit to your team. Most of us had the festive menu, which had a great selection of dishes which were all very tasty. We haven’t been to The Thatched house in a long time, but being locals will be sure to return soon.
It's been a few years since we last visited and I'm wondering why really. Staff were busy but really friendly, nothing was too much bother. And the Food was really good. Calamari was soft with a crunchy crumb and very tasty. Burger was nice and the fries were some of the best I have ever had. Banofee pie was delicious, could have eaten a whole plate full. Great place for a relaxed pub lunch with friends or family.
I'm not normally one to complain but I ordered a steak sandwich and the sandwich was filled less than a half of the way with steak. Really poor and unacceptable way to cheat customers, was more like an empty bit of bread. I politely complained but didn't get any response.
Busy. Waitress appeared rushed of her feet. Items on menu not available, i.e., no gammon for mains, no rasberry lemonade posset for dessert. Had to go to bar to order drinks. Staff were friendly and I enjoyed my food. I had the Sea Bass. Place lacks atmosphere and it was cold.
