I’m new to the area and decided in my wisdom to visit this pub, thinking its Friday night, be busy and friendly and but it was dead just the locals , and at some point in the night about 11:30ish I visited the toilets then lots of the locals came in and two security staff the locals decided to be immature and throw water at me while the security staff did nothing and on my way out the security decided to search me and nobody else ! Hence, they found nothing, and it ruined my evening ! If your new to the area don’t bother going ! the locals run the place Didn’t bother complaining to the management because I know Popely wouldn’t get anywhere !

Had lunch with my family and the food was out really fast, drinks came included in meal deal prices and another drink or two didn’t break the bank at all. Really nice space and let’s a lot of light in. We sat on the sofas and was nice and easy with the buggy to get around

Only been here a few times since my preference is quite drinking spots, only been here few times out of curiosity to see the night life or to meet friends before we move on. Some of the staff really put me off of the place with an uncomfortable vibe. Would rather not go back and visit another place. I was singled out by staff with personal information like my families names which was very creepy knowing I did not know anyone in the bar, and I have only been to this bar a few times this year, leading me to ask "Is this really the manager?" as this was not typical manager behaviour. I am curious to find out how these people knew very personal information about me without hardly interacting with me, with none of my family living in the area. There was no trouble with other customers or staff during my visit at the time, and the customers I interacted with I knew from other pubs around town and I got along fine with them, I even ended up going back with a person that night when I got kicked out, which would of been unlikely if I was causing trouble. I noticed the same security staff allowed certain customers to bully and harass other customers, while talking about stealing items.

I came for holidays to Harlow and to drop my nephew to my Brother. I thought I will just sit in a bar with my laptop to do some work and enjoy a beer or two. I found a spot which was quiet visible to the bar tenders 😔 I have tried a mango cider which was horrible. The bar tender did not tap it at the front of me instead he went to the back of the bar to some storage to tap it out. When I tasted it was like a cold sirup with water and who knows what in it. No CO2 gas no bubbles no freshnes just a very bad something that could not be called cider. For second try I had guineas in stead which was quiet ok. It was served to my table and paid at my table. I was quiet satisfied with it. In the mean time I was working on my laptop at a fixed table. Then 25 minutes before I left the bar I asked for a last guineas. Never tapped, never got any sign from the staff to take it then after 15 minutes waiting I had to ask the staff where the drink is. Then they quiet arrogantly asked where I must have disappeared as the beer was ready for me. I was bit surprised as I was sitting at the exact same location where I was first served. Then Ii requested the staff to do an other one. Same happened. After 10 minutes waiting I asked again. Then again arrogantly I was ordered to leave the bar because by the staffi wasted the beer. Such a shame on such a low communication that lead to this situation. I had the worst ever experience in the hospitality in my life. Embarrassing and treating customers like you would never even treat animals.... I'm very disappointed. I will never go back there and not recommending to anyone to go there either.

I meet up with some friends here and always feel welcome. I haven't tried the food so I didn't give a score but what I've seen looks really good. It's a child friendly pub during the day so great for families. Being in the town centre it's a good place to take a break for refreshments and food.
