Great pub just as a pub should be it has all original features from the victorian period no tvs or fruit machines none of that nonsense nice friendly local people I love the nice old bar the shape is very satisfying to sit at it with a pint and prices are lower than most other pubs👍🏻
Great pub, really friendly atmosphere...
Brilliant pub. And such a lovely building just sad that the ouside needs a little tlc Would be good if they kept there toliet stoked with toliet paper. But will be returning again soon. Was told about this place by my Friend that looked after the temporary traffic lights outside. She was right. Beautiful place
A very small simple charming pub with a very interesting history. It was designed by an architect (who designs Train Station) and built in 1887. According to the local village book, the first landlord Mr. Marwick (till 1912) kept beagles in the rear fields and the iron nails where he hung meat on the oak trees can still be seen. It is a pity that the place is not an Inn. The toilet is a tiny block behind the main building.
The very best pub around. It's a pub. No frills. A pub for drinking beer. Great atmosphere. And lovely staff. A must if you are visiting the forest or anywhere in the area. Still has outdoor loos. Great overall experience.
