The Rose & Crown

Welcome to The Rose and Crown, a beautiful 15th century village inn. Meet the Manager called Hope!

A very traditional English pub open all year round, with cosy log fires in the winter and two pretty flower gardens for warmer weather.

Here you can enjoy good company, home-cooked food, quality wines and Harvey’s real ales in relaxed and pleasant surroundings. Our enticing menu offers a wide variety of dishes for every occasion, from a snack to a business lunch, to that very special evening meal or celebration. Our Sunday lunch is also very popular.

There are many lovely walks and places of interest nearby i.e Bateman’s, so why not extend your stay in our comfortable B&B and visit a few of them.

My wife and I stayed for a night on my birthday, the room was warm and perfect, this pub has still got all its traditional features that it had 40 years ago, the log fire, that carpet, the low beams, very warm inside, great food and beer, and the staff doing their best under pressure, I lived in Burwash for many years and have great memories of all four pubs back in their day, the Bear Motel, the Admiral Vernon, the Bell inn, all great pubs with real connections to real people. Only two pubs left and most shops gone. Local people should support their pubs as they are a real hub in the community, Rose & Crown, best pub for miles around.

I did not stay at the pub, but we had dinner 😔 the burger was overcooked. My chicken supreme was also overcooked but the sauce was nice. The service was good. My side veg was stone cold, made them aware and it was changed immediately good service nice people, they just need a better chef

The rose and crown Burwash I heard that there was a new chef. As it's been a while since I was there due to the fact I was very disappointed the last couple of times I thought I give it another try. I went Thursday it was fairly busy but I did not have to wait long at all The steak was perfect and the curry was as good as any take away. I enjoyed it so much that we went back Saturday this time it was very busy but again it was not waiting long and the food was once more great hats off to the chef and the pub. I look forward to my return.

Nice little pub from the outside but waited ages at bar to served a drink then over an hour for food to arrive, fish chips & peas with no peas, When asked why just said just they'd run out but no alternative offered. Pie of the day was so dry and hard was more likely to have been the pie of yesterday!! Definitely do not recommend eating here..

The Rose and Crown in Burwash is a delightful establishment that offers a fantastic combination of great food, live music, a tranquil location, and comfortable rooms. The food is exceptional, with a menu that includes both traditional pub fare and more sophisticated dishes, all made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The live music events at the Rose and Crown are a real treat, providing a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. What's even better is that the venue is located in a peaceful and idyllic spot, allowing you to unwind and enjoy the music without any distractions. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, the Rose and Crown's rooms are a great option. They are cozy and well-equipped, with comfortable beds and all the amenities you need to make your stay enjoyable. Highly recommended!
