About us

Since opening in 2009, The Pavilion has gained a local following for its excellent grill menu, together with its innovative range of traditional cask ales and superior quality wines. Ideally located just off the A19 near Silverink/Cobalt, The Pavilion is a modern, cosmopolitan venue and is the perfect location to share great food with friends and family.

The grill rings the changes with our favourites and our guest steak and burger board. Char-grilled on our Spanish josper grill, one of few in use in the north east, giving a unique flavour to our dishes. All the classics are here, from the North Sea Haddock to Steak, there really is something for everyone.

A leading light in the North East food scene for casual dining in a relaxed, contemporary setting, catering to all tastes. Our wine list is mightily impressive and sensitively priced, and perfectly compliments our food menu.

Good lunch here mid-week. Nice spacious bar and restaurant, relaxed, clean and modern. Good range of traditional food served well. Friendly staff. Large range of beers including hand pulled ales. Some dishes fairly pricey but there is a 2 course fixed price lunch option. Went for lunch again on Saturday with a large group of family members. Food was good and inexpensive but they put us on tables that hadn't been cleaned. Also the local craft ale I had was not good (although I guess that's the brewer's problem not the pub).

Very disappointing. We were there for a birthday celebration and the service in the restaurant area was poor, long waits for drinks, missed and incorrect orders. The food was a mixed bag the hanging kebabs seemed to be well received but the steaks were poor and chips served cold. My sea bass main at £19 looked attractive on the plate but the fish was poorly cooked and a portion size more like a starter, the fish cut up to disguise how little there was and a tiny amount of gnocchi. I also had an issue at the bar on arrival when served a pint of cask ale which was at the end of the cask and undrinkable. Was told they had to wait for the manager to confirm that it was off, left stood waiting for over ten minutes while the manager looked at the beer, went of and returned to take the beer off sale. All the time not a word was said to me and it took another member of bar staff a few minutes later to offer another drink. At the price point it's poor value for money and combined with poor service we won't be back

I was disappointed they accepted a 7.00pm booking only to be told a week later the kitchen closes at 6.55pm and could we come in earlier. The food was good. The atmosphere was quiet. Also paid a deposit that they forgot to deduct from the bill. Was told I would need to return to get a refund by a very unhelpful manager. I managed to email and get the refund into my account after a couple of days. Bookings and customer service need addressing, not what I have previously been used to from the Pavilion.

We had an enjoyable visit for lunch. The menus offered a lot of choice from quick bites to larger meals. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent too. Very enjoyable visit.
