Went for a meal, have been before and have always had a good meal, but had probably the best-mixed grill (called the butcher's grill on the menu ), everything about it was perfect, and the taste and quality were outstanding, highly recommend it, and my partner had the vegetarian lasagne which she thoroughly enjoyed, finished off with an equally good pint of Guinness,
Visited the Three Horse Shoes on Christmas Day for Lunch. This was our second visit, the first sometime ago and we were really impressed the first time. Our Christmas Day Lunch was to say the very least exceptional the food was hot and cooked to perfection. We were well taken care of by all the Staff, in particular Josh (a fellow Shihtzu owner) Would highly recommend this establishment to one and all. We were that impressed we’ve already booked for next Christmas Day Lunch.
A Lovely hotel where the staff were so welcoming the room was of a great standard and clean and the bed was exceptionally comfortable!!!! Breakfast was also great sadly no decaffeinated tea on the premises so settled for OJ which was no real hardship but would have been nice. Totally recommend if wanting a weekend away and 10/15 mins from Durham
Went for Sunday lunch. Luckily we went early as it got very busy later. Parking was OK for me, but later people were parking on the grass verges. The food was very good, and the portion size was more than good enough. The time we went, there was a choice of 4 meats all served with large Yorkshire Puddings and roasted veg.
We've had two visits to the Three Horseshoes — both were really good. I had the Sunday roast such was good bit I have had better. The meat was excellent, the Yorkshire was a little tough (probably pre made and reheated). My daughter had the beef feathers — this was outstanding. Slow cooked beef on mash potatoes and gravy. I'll get that next time
