    — I had my second visit to this pub as part of a 'Christmas do'. Once again, as the night came to an end I was left with the perplexed feeling of knowing that I had eaten in a pub that had been given awards and was highly rated, yet felt short changed by the whole experience. As a diner, was I being given haute cuisine (minute delicate portions) or was I being manipulated by food snobbery (one sprout, one square piece of carrot does not make a meal no matter how visually pretty)? The food was nice and was well cooked but I have had better food in greater proportions for less in other local pubs and restaurants. As for the atmosphere, it is a pretty place to sit yet on the night of the meal, was really quite cold and draughty. There was also a rowdy table of men and women who were allowed to continue their raucous behaviour unchecked throughout the night, having downed a number of bottles of champagne (money must have been no object as drinks prices are steep). Overall, I wouldn't go back unless someone else was footing the bill otherwise in my opinion it is too poor value for money. As for the awards, it may just be a case of The Emperor's New Clothes.

    — Friends of mine had visited Chadwicks Inn and told of their overall disappointment; having an open mind I thought my husband and I would try it for ourselves. Quite frankly it is over priced and over rated. Portions are extremely small and we left feeling hungry and unfulfilled. Of course we will not be returning ... use your hard earned cash more wisely - go elsewhere. Prices here are not much different to The Star Inn at Harome which serves filling and truly amazing cuisine.
