About us

This building has been used as a pub since the 1800s – in fact, it once housed two pubs. The Victoria on the left and The Comet on the right eventually merged to become The Victoria and Comet Hotel. The pub closed 75 years later but now we've restored it to its former glory and christened it The Victoria Comet in homage to its glorious past.

A great place, steeped in history. The food is good, the drinks are good, and the service is outstanding! Staff are really helpful and genuinely want guests to enjoy themselves.

I love this pub. It is perfectly located directly opposite the entrance of Central Station. It's always busy but never too cramped. Good selection of draft beers and plenty of choice for spirits, reasonably priced for its location. Shows all the sports, offers food I've never tried it but it always looks lovely. In the summer there's a seating area outside too so you can enjoy the rays if you prefer. Highly recommend.

Really nice pub directly opposite of main station. Opened for drinks at 10am, food from 12 on. Good lunch deals and very tasty burgers. There is always someone in for a drink and as it is a place for tourists, it is quite international. Good variety of ales on tap and a really friendly bartender - if you have to wait for your train or fancy a nice pint and a burger, come in and enjoy!
