Really good village pub with lots of character and very friendly and helpful staff. We were there for a wake following a funeral, and the catering was excellent. Top class.

I have known this formerly delightful pub for 60 years and recall how it has always been an iconic retreat known for its characterful ambiance and great food. I was shocked to see what it has become on a recent visit. The attractive part of the pub has been closed up and what remains is not worth visiting. Sad.

Very friendly pub, exceptional food I Stopped in hoping for late Sunday lunch. Didn’t really want a roast but that’s Sunday menu. I you are going to Offer a limited menu make it great food. I opted for pork and chicken mix so glad I did superb old school home cooking fresh local produce; tasty pork, moist chicken peas, carrots, beans, cabbage, Yorkshire pudding, roasties, mash and gravy. Wow yummy I will put on my regular Sunday menu.

Just had Sunday lunch there today with a friend. Choice of meats with vegetables. The roast beef and chicken were perfectly cooked, very tender and moist, the vegetables were cooked to perfection also, still a hint of crispness, not overcooked as often that’s the case in many restaurants. The food arrived at the table “piping hot”, steam was rising from the food on the plates, what a pleasure to tuck into a superb Sunday roast lunch. It was the best Sunday lunch I’d eaten in a long time. A HUGE Thankyou to the cook and waitress who served us.
