New and modern pub serving quality pub food in a relaxed setting, we're the best place in Collingham to share a meal with friends and family (and dogs!).
From delicious starters, wonderful main courses from both the sea and land, tasty sandwiches to burgers. Traditional Sunday Roasts served with Yorkshire Pudding and all the trimmings.
Unfortunately the Sunday roast was a complete let down, shouldn't have got to the table they should have recognised this themselves, burnt to black roast potatoes, small portions of everything, not offered as a bottomless meal, but wouldn't have wanted it to be Not at all value for money. Shame, it had such potential, maybe it was a one off. Burger was good though.
We booked a table earlier in the week for nine of us at 1:30 a leaving celebration for one of my Green keeping team. On arrival it was evident they were understaffed and the young gentleman was doing his best to juggle food orders, drink orders whilst trying his best to make hot drinks. Obviously a little research was done before I chose the establishment to eat and was encouraged by the good reviews. The food arrived and initially quite surprised which quickly became disbelief. I can honestly say the fish and chips were the worst I have ever eaten it consisted of a well over fried fish 14 chips and what I would class as a desert spoon of mushy peas £13.99 the other fish and chips were equally appalling and uneaten, the four mixed grill we ordered were of similar quality one arrived with just one chip, there was no black pudding as advertised all the meat was well overcooked and incredibly dry to the point of inedible. The saving grace was the chicken tikka and the hunter chicken but portion sizes were more suited to a children’s menu than an adults. If you’re understaffed would it not be better to close the kitchen rather than produce the inedible food we had to endure. Three of us complained most left their food, and all we got was very sorry I will pass your comments to the kitchen. Advise think twice before ordering food I would not like anyone to experience the food we were served. I wish I hadn’t left my phone most wouldn’t believe the appalling quality.
Only in drinking on what was a very busy Saturday lunch time. Excellent atmosphere - Dillon working single handed behind the bar (at the time) - at one point was pouring a beer for a customer whilst cashing out another. Great to watch him, never stopped.
Thank you to Jess and Andrea for a warm welcome and great customer service, and thank you to the chef, Kieran who cooked everything as asked, well done... Will return and recommend
We were ravenous and called here at lunchtime today looking for a quick bite to eat. The outside space looked great and the interior did also, however that is where the positives end. Other tables seemed to be getting service but ours not once. Ordered fish, chips and peas. Also sausage and mash. It arrived in a timely manner. The slim fish, skin on, was poor indeed, the peas dry, the small quantity of chips decent. Sausage & the mash average, small amount of undercooked 'caramelised' onions. The gravy was very poor. I had to drown that meal in ketchup to get through it. No check back, like I previously said, no table service whatsoever. We had to approach the bar to pay, even at this point we were not asked how our meal was. Could not recommend.
