This was our first visit to the Butlers since it reopened. The staff were lovely but it took a little while to seat us and we had to ask bar staff how long it would be as nobody had spoken to us after 10 mins of standing there. The food was okay but nowhere near as nice as previously and the menu was basic at best. I ordered the cauliflower cheese pie and there was little cheese flavour and the veg was bland. The music kept going off and the new spotlights in the main dining area where far to bright to the point it made me feel uncomfortable. Overall I would probably go back in summer for the beer garden because I love the location and I’m hoping they introduce a decent bar menu but I think the food needs a little work
Stopped off here after a long walk. Had seen it had been refurbished and reopened so had been meaning to try it. Wasn't disappointed. Food lovely, as were the staff. Great job on the refurbishment too. Nice to have a decent country pub in walking distance. We will be back.
Overall fantastic experience. Great food, great chatty and friendly staff,
Great place to eat and drink. Warm friendly atmosphere, good food, and affordable.
My first visit following the long closure of the pub. I was part of a group who were there following a friend's funeral. The buffet food was excellent and care had been taken in the seating area to accommodate this large group. The staff were efficient and helpful. I will definitely be returning in the near future to explore the regular menu. The warming log fire and the freshened decor added to the welcoming atmosphere.
