The Boat is constantly organising new and exciting events for the pub.
Our large and versatile function room is available for hire from early in the morning until late at night, 7 days a week. We are able to cater for any occasion you could possibly imagine; band practice, weddings, funerals, birthday parties, seasonal events, staff parties, meetings, fundraisers, fitness programmes/classes, business networking, university society meets… the list is endless!
Once or twice a month we’ll be having Big Tribute bands playing in ‘The Stables’ (the function room/Venue).

Been coming here for awhile now and love coming on Mondays. Can get really busy on Monday's as they do sticky 13 karaoke and open mic which is always good fun. The landlord is a pleasure and always makes everyone feel welcome and takes time to talk to people. All the staff and nice in there and I look forward to going.
I had a fantastic stay over in the car park of this pub. Great welcome upon arrival lots of local info shared with me. Still open when I got back later in the evening karaoke I'm full swing. Friendly locals. Can highly recommend this place. Didn't have food but Guinness is spot on.
A very enjoyable visit. It's a straightforward local pub with public and lounge bars. Lovely lovely beer. (it has ceilidh nights too... and they are reputedly great fun).
Warm and friendly staff. Even the small grey haired Sapper, lol. Veteran and family-friendly. Food is above and beyond yummy. Close to the canal and lock, if there is one pub in the area you want to visit, it's this one.
Lovely beer garden with a good art exhibition in stables. Staff were great, very warm and welcoming. Good prices and options on tap. Roast dinner was OK, with nice yorkies, but veggie option was pretty poor. Expected a nut roast or something alternative, not a roasted half of a butternut squash. Bit weird. However, this is our only negative, experience was great otherwise.
