About us

The place where you can relax and dine out in a welcoming, comfortable and informal atmosphere; enjoy traditional ales and good food in the bar & restaurant, a perfect place to meet with friends or celebrate that special occasion, as eating out should always be special. The Bay Horse is a true gastronomic destination thanks to chef who cooks up-to-the-moment modern British cuisine with some continental influences using local seasonal ingredients including all UK Beef and herbs foraged locally by the pub's chefs and staff. The rustic dishes might include a starter of Warm Roquefort Cheese Cake severed with Oven Roasted Cherry Toms drizzled pesto and balsamic syrup with main courses ranging from 28 day aged 8oz Sirloin Steak to our classic Chicken Sanderman a breast of chicken slowly cooked in butter deglazed with whiskey and sherry finished with sliced red peppers and lashings of double cream.

Went for a christmas lunch and it was lovely. Lovely venue and menu! Will definitely go again. Didn't stay over so can't rate the rooms I'm afraid..

Had a really nice meal here today, the homemade chips some of the best I've had eating out. The burger was really tasty , took a while to get food but there was a big party that had just arrived before us. Lovely staff and landlady came over to apologise for the wait. Overall nice experience will go again. Been here quite a few times now and the food is excellent the cheese and onion pie is sublime. Service is always excellent. It's mine and my mother's go to place when I visit her. It's worth the drive out.

Nice traditional pub near rivington hills etc, good choice of lagers ales and food, need to stop people vaping though especially right at side of kitchen🙄.

I recently visited Bay Horse Inn in Adlington, and the bustling atmosphere showcased its popularity. As a walking/hiking and dog-friendly pub, it embraces a lively community vibe. Ordering at the bar adds a quaint touch, though there might be a brief wait for the food – patience pays off! The portions are generously sized and reasonably priced, making the dining experience delightful. Convenient parking at the back, coupled with a charming beer garden, adds to the appeal. The nooks around the place offer varied dining experiences, enhancing the overall ambiance. A special mention goes to the lovely cat that lounges around, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. Despite the bustling activity, Bay Horse Inn creates a perfect blend of coziness and community spirit, making it a worthwhile visit.

What a feast to have after walking around 'Chorley Three Peaks'. A very busy, dog friendly pub. They kindly fit us in between reservations. A good tip I read on another review before coming here, order's at the bar only. A little wait for the food, but it's so worth it! Our dog's loved it here, too! I think we might become regulars!
