The Barrels is an 18th Century coaching inn that is formed partly from the old city wall and is one of the last multi-roomed pubs in Hereford. A down-to-earth drinking establishment, The Barrels was the brewery’s home for many years. It attracts an eclectic clientele who come for the lively, friendly atmosphere and, of course, excellent beer. The Barrels boasts a large, partially covered, walled and flag-stoned brewery yard, providing year-round 'alfresco' drinking and every August Bank Holiday weekend, The Barrels hosts a hugely popular beer festival in aid of local charities. The pub is also home to a variety of ladies’ and men's darts, pool and skittles teams (all of which welcome new members). Landlord Phil Pryce and his team look forward to welcoming you!.
Had a couple of pints with a pal tonight. Barmaid was lovely and so was the gent clearing the bar at the end of the evening. I was drinking Butty Bach which is a lovely beer. Couldve sat there for hours and drank many more if thered been more time!
A fine pour of Butty Bach enjoyed by all. Friendly atmosphere and dog friendly. Cozy rooms from which to sip our brews. We'll be back later in the week for the beer festival. Look forward to tasting the well reviewed meals
What a great traditional pub. Perfect beer. Great company, chat and snacks. If you like good beer, do not miss this place out on your Hereford visit. Great pint as usual, chatted with the locals and dog lovers outside. I wouldn't want to drink anywhere else in Hereford.
Great pub with nice drinks, great music and a brilliant atmosphere. Called here for some drinks one evening and it was a really good time. The staff were friendly and efficient, the drinks were good, not too expensive and we didn't have to wait to be served despite it being quite busy here. Great atmosphere and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
If you are within the Hereford City Area, just GO ! Haven't rate 'food' as they don't do it. Fabulous staff! Very knowledgeable about their ales, Larger etc, and very, very, helpful & Knowledgeable about other pubs in the area. Hereford bars don't see it as a competition! They see it as 'their' area! A sort of, 'one for all, & all for one' sort of thing...... I highly recommend, The Barrel, & The Orange Tree, for beer/ale etc & the Rose & Crown for food ! ( sadly....you can walk between them all ! What a terrible way to spend a day..... week ...... 🤣🤣🤣)
