A busy city centre pub with live sports, a selection of craft beers and a lively atmosphere.
Akenside Traders is a busy city centre pub on Quayside Newcastle with Live Sport and music. Our stylish, yet rustic pub has a warm atmosphere, eclectic mix of environments and interesting artwork. We are family friendly during the day and busy in evenings with sport and diners. The weekends are a great chance to unwind with great beers or cocktails as we create an unforgettable party for our guests.
We have a huge range of craft beers, premium lagers and ciders but we also have a spirt emporium packed with gins, rum and tequila and we can’t forget our artisan cocktails and superb coffee!
Our food is all about tapas, hand stretched pizza and burgers however you will find we offer the ‘usual suspects’ and lighter dishes too! No matter your hunger, we know we’ve got something you will just love.

Lovely place and food. Other customers were so friendly, I was on my own waiting for my son, and some ladies gave me a prosecco from their bottomless brunch. I think they thought I'd been stood up 😂
Our family made a short stop in Newcastle while on holiday and spent the day walking all around town, taking in some of the sights and getting a feel for the place so that we can properly visit another time. We made our way to the bridges and Quayside by sundown and Akenside Traders caught our eye. It was a great choice! The servers showed us tremendous hospitality and great service. They gave us loads of recommendations on things to do while in town. Our kids loved the wings and pizza, and we were happy with the wide variety of beers offered. It is a very spacious place with TVs at every table, which I imagine is a great place to take in a football match or two! Being we visited in October, the place was a super festive with full on Halloween decor which added to the fun of the evening. We’ll be back for sure!
Nice pub, beer good and atmosphere was ok. We went on a Wednesday night and it was about a 3rd full. Big screens showing football, and window seats great to watch the nightlife passing by.
This might sound like a paid review but it isn't. We found this pub on a rainy April afternoon after walking for ages looking for a dog friendly establishment. They welcomed the 10 of us with open arms. It was a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't to busy. Our kids were delighted with the choices they had after one of the staff went to chat to the chef about what they could have. From ordering to having food in front of us room about 20 minutes. Perfect size portions and a fantastic service. The staff went out of the way to show how dog friendly they were, with drinks and treats for both of them. If I had one complaint and its not really a complaint is that the slot machines take away a little of the look to the place. Hope to get back again 1 day and if i could give 6 stars i would. Thank you all.
Food was good but since we ordered more food at lunch they tool almost an hour to make it. I was because of holidays but still they could do a better job. Anyways, food was good. Loved pizza there.
