The Red Lyon in Slinfold, near Horsham, West Sussex, is the quintessential English village pub, with hearty log fires, wooden panelling, old oak beams, and a huge family beer garden.

Friendly service but it’s very expensive. Paid £9.90 for a Guiness and a small coke - that’s more than I pay in London. Sticky tables really need a clean too.
Lovely friendly pub, with a warm atmosphere and great service. It caters for locals and tourists, and has a real country pub vibe. The menu is good with a range of dishes. It's in a picturesque village and is very much a traditional English pub, but with a worldly outlook.
A lovely village pub with large garden. However, although the garden is large it's not particularly well kept and some of the picnic benches are well past the point of needing replacing. The food is not good. I've eaten here twice and both meals were of poor quality and value.
This was our first time visit. There are various factors that make an evening special. The most important of these is was it memorable. The venue was great and had easy parking. The food was good but not memorable The service was exceptional- this was made possible with the use of a 5 ft 3 in waitress called Lucy. This young person oozed personality Her delight in banter was wonderful. She engaged with the customer with chat about her life . This enabled us to give an older perspective to her challenges. I just hope that Lucy realises what an asset she is to this business and that she is appreciated. I want Lucy to know in my view whatever she puts her mind do she will excel but never under value the power of social skills. X
Really friendly staff, great real ales that are kept well (if a little pricey), lovely large garden with a climbing frame for the kids. The only reason the overall rating is three stars was down to the food. Which whilst good quality does not offer value for money due to portion size vs price. £3 for bag of pork scratchings.
