To get to the Mytton Arms, there is no alternative other than negotiating the narrow lanes of South Shropshire, although the summer Shropshire Hills Shuttle bus could help!
Nevertheless, it is worth seeking out this well used village pub that was rescued from the brink of oblivion. Its three low beamed rooms are cosy, comfortable and tastefully done out which, together with a friendly rustic atmosphere, make it a pretty tempting place to linger. And of course, it is quite close to popular local walks on the Stiperstones and Earls Hill, including Route 4 in the Walking with Offa series. If one wonders where the face on the pub sign comes from, it is a caricature of a customer! No food, but local eggs, sometimes from ducks, are often available. Surprisingly, there's a vine covered patio to the side. Branch Pub of the Year in 2014, and Rural Pub of the Year in 2015,2016 and 2017.
Stopped here on a walk through Shropshire hills. Allowed us to eat our sandwiches on tables outside of the pub and had a lovely latte.
Been coming to this fine, and very popular establishment since 2015 (weekend karate course in nearby Pontesbury twice a year). It changed ownership recently and the new owner hasn't altered anything. Great selection of real ales. Very dog friendly as you expect.
Great little rural pub that serve a bostin real ale and some great snacks ( I'd recommend the pork pie & scotch eggs ) Just a shame they took the pub sign down which depicted a long standing customer Jack , they also naked an ale after him
It's a nice place to stop for a refreshing beer, whilst out walking in the Shropshire countryside. Good selection of local ales.
Fantastic traditional country pub in the north Shropshire hills. Lovely establishment with a cosy vibe. Very popular with locals. Does about 6 real ales and home made sandwiches. Shows the sports and gas a games room. Very highly recommended 🍻 🎯 🎱
