Visited with friends for drinks, but the pub does takeaway pizzas, very nice. Recommended.
Pizzas are decent but took over 2 hours to come. Staff were friendly enough, but a bag of dirty smelly sports kit on the stairs to step over was a bit odd, and more annoyingly they failed to mention there would be live music until half midnight and loud music until 2am directly below the rooms. Out of courtesy would’ve been nice to have been warned as would’ve gone somewhere else. I get it that they want to hold events there.. but should really have told bnb guests! Also feel £70 for a bedroom with no window (only a frosted out window in the bathroom) and a home made bed was a bit much. Also had to park my car on the road as very limited parking. Can’t recommend Red lion unless you want minimal sleep
This pub is an actual delight. It is not accessible to wheelchairs, but if you have some mobility, I highly recommend. Actually attended a wake here - food was great, staff were lovely. Initially indoors which is a nice traditional space. Dog treats on bar, so I suspect is dog friendly. Outside later on, it was very comfortable and relaxed. On site there is a pizza restaurant which I can also recommend, as having been tortured by the smell for a couple of hours, we caved and got one. Delicious.
Great place. Polite and friendly atmosphere. There are plenty of drink choices draft Madri was a winner for me. They do fresh cooked pizza too. So we couldn't leave without one. Very nice indeed.
There were six of us who stayed for four nights at the end of October 2022 while we were visiting our friends who recently moved to Navenby from the Chicago suburbs. The rooms were very pretty and comfortable. The beer, pizza and breakfast were all great, and overall, the atmosphere was lovely. We felt very welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We all look forward to our next stay at the Red Lion!
