Originally two weather-boarded farm cottages dating from 1483 that became licensed in 1817. Situated just below the North Downs, it provides a welcome stop for all, including walkers, families & dogs. Refurbished March 2017 giving relaxed modern atmosphere. The room to left is used as a café from 11-3 serving coffee and cakes. To the right the bar opens at midday. At the rear is a large decked patio with plenty of tables and chairs.
We came here for the tasting menu and it was a good experience. We enjoyed all the dishes and the service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant has a small car park for around 10 cars. This does get full, so if you're coming in a group, consider sharing a car.
My grandmother and I thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu. Exceptional food. We requested a table that was easy to access with good lighting for my grandmother and were given the perfect table for this. Robyn (who served us) was brilliant too. We plan to return!
Celebrating our wedding anniversary we went to Bowleys at the plough to experience their vegan taster menu. Wow! The food was stunning (and I'm not even vegan!), the wine pairings extremely complimentary to the food and the staff were amazing. A lovely atmosphere the attentive staff made us feel welcomed and we're extremely engaging. Our waitresses were fantastic and the sommelier was knowledgeable and generous.. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone..
Fantastic food with excellent personal service. Second visit and we were remembered even though it had been a few months. Every mouthful was exquisite. Not the cheapest place to go but worth every penny, it certainly won't be the last visit!
Absolutely amazing!! Staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, the food (taster menu) was exquisite, each course was paired with a beautiful wine that complemented the meal. You definitely have to go! I highly recommend this beautiful establishment. Apologies for the half eaten dish (smoked halibut), as soon as I smelt it I dived in!. Thank you Chef and staff.
