About us

We have a walker's bar which houses darts and Rotary Pool (a round revolving pool table), also a lounge in which there is a large open fire and we have entertainment most evenings. We also have a Beer Garden - Children are welcome throughout the restaurant, lounge and bar areas.

The Peakstones was purported to be the “Gate Keepers Lodge” of the Alton Towers Estate which, at the time, was owned by the Earl of Shrewsbury.

There have since been additions complementing the existing building, a lounge and a “Themed” Restaurant called “The Piggery and Friends”, so named as at one time the pub was also a Pig Farm - (Our resident ghosts are another story!).

What a lovely traditional inn. Margaret and her staff were amazing. I could of talked all night with Margrer. I can't wait to be in the area again. Here will be my go to place to stay. For me nothing beats the personal touch and Peakstones Inn has it in buckets. Thank you Margaret, and I hope to see you all again soon.

I visited with my Swedish friend. We both agreed the service was exceptional. They went above and beyond to assist us in anyway that they could. The food was delicious, the prices were very reasonable and the room for the price we paid was very satisfactory. If and when we come back to visit Alton Towers, this will be the first place we consider. I just hope we weren't too much of a burden as we did require a lot of assistance in travel and logistics. Thanks you once again.

Margaret was very helpful and friendly - we were camping by the Inn and came in for supper which was good - lots of choice and some interesting daily specials - round pool table definitely a first but again fun. We had a lovely family meal - and the dog was ABSOLUTELY delighted to be given a sausage by the chef!

Stayed here because we were visiting Alton Towers which is only a 10min drive. Stayed in the family which is very spacious and clean. The food is delicious and freshly cooked when ordered. I would recommend the full English for breakfast. The staff are warm and friendly and the whole place is a credit to Margret a true lady. They also cater for tents and have mobiles and bungalows to let. Highly recommend this Inn and will definitely be staying again.
