Nice friendly staff. Not too busy at 1700 on a Thursday. Seemed to be lots of people eating, albeit we didn't try the food. Plates all seemed cleared, which may indicate that the food was edible ! Car parks front & rear only about ΒΌ full. Recommended for clandestine ops.
A welcoming, friendly community pub whos reputation draws far more customers from out of the village. Ample car parking and waterside setting.
Been a few times as it is convenient location for family. Food is very ordinary pub grub with fancy names, not always well prepared. Disabled access is signposted down a steep slope with entry at the canal side, but the disabled toilet is up a curved flight of 15 stone steps and doubles as the ladies toilet. Very poor. Currently (Dec 2023) Xmas decorations are wrapped around the stair rail which makes it very difficult for those with limited mobility and / or lack of grip to use and may lead to accidents. Was there for a family member's landmark birthday so bought champagne. You think they'd have more than 6 matching champagne flutes, but no. Providing paper napkins for birthday cake because there are "no small plates"? Really? The lad serving was friendly but really needed to wipe his nose. Dribbling snot is not a good look for a waiter. The woman who seemed to be his senior just seemed to want us out of there, particularly after my elderly father was taken ill. Her attitude stank. Staff seriously need to go on equality and diversity training with particular reference to older people and those with disabilities. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Change of management needed.
A nice stop off for some pub grub in the outdoor seating area. Dogs welcome outdoors. Ample parking, a real treat
Brilliant food. Service and staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely beer garden situated next to a canal. Perfect for a beer in the sun and to wash down some lovely grub. Would recommend. Will be going again.
