Nice pub, lovely staff but the food is not that good! We had 2 sirloin steaks which was okay,a pie and mash which was a bit shy of mash and a chicken kebab what was very disappointing. 3 small pieces of chicken,3 small pieces of well done chorizo on the skewer and a few peppers, the feta cheese was literally a crumb,The small cup of chips saved the dish! Was offered a dessert/drink free as a goodwill gesture. £16 for a sub standard kebab is not good.

Hadn't been here in years, really nice experience, went on a Friday night good job we'd booked went with some friends as it was very busy every table taken. Food was excellent and the waiting staff brilliant, as they took our order explained it would be half an hour wait on food which wasn't a problem as we enjoyed a couple of drinks from the well stocked bar. Would recommend. I had the mixed grill which was cooked exactly as I wanted and very plentiful. Definitely be back.

We had a family 'build up to Christmas' meal at the Wheatsheaf pub/ restaurant. The restaurant was busy, as expected, but we were served quickly ( not rushed) The menu is varied with plenty of choice for all ages and tastes. The dishes we chose, from steaks to salads, were all very tasty. No left overs! The staff were very efficient and polite and the pub looks lovely dressed for the season. We had a lovely time and will definitely be going back soon. Would recommend.

The Wheatsheaf Kirk Ella is a great traditional village pub. This deservedly popular pub has a good range of beers and lagers, including hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. The food menu is varied and very good. It is a large comfortable but cosy place with friendly staff. There is a nice outside seating area behind the pub. This dog friendly pub is definitely worth visiting.

Large family-orientated pub which welcomes well behaved dogs. Our first visit so booked online but wasn't very busy at Sunday lunchtime. Very pleasant staff and welcoming. Had the scampi and roast beef. Lovely tasting food, beef was little stringy but scampi was perfect. Located in lovely little village of Kirk Ella right next to St Andrew's Church. Beautiful location. Will be back should we visit the area again.
