Old fashioned values combined with modern comforts make The Stiffkey Red Lion a great place to stay, an inspired choice to dine, a friendly place to drink and an ideal base for exploring the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.
Our 10 South-facing eco-friendly hotel bedrooms all have spacious balconies or terraced gardens and a private entrance. Our two luxury suites are spacious and well equipped.
The warm and friendly bar with it’s roaring wood burner is a refuge from cold winter days, or spill out into the al-fresco dining area to enjoy the warmth of summer.
Our restaurant serves good value honest food, sourced locally and cooked fresh. In season Crabs and Lobsters from Wells-Next-The-Sea are a speciality and in winter it’s local Mussels. There’s a children’s menu, a daily specials boards and a great selection of wines, gins, beers and ales.

Really tasty food, locally sourced. Interesting menu with good portions. Friendly, efficient service by a wood burner. Perfect for a January lunch! Recommended very warmly.
Fantastic lunch. We just happened to drive past and expected a "pub lunch" but this was so much more. Great flavours and a good selection of interesting food. Excellent team and a lovely atmosphere. Not cheap, but certainly worth it.
My husband and I had made plans with my parents to meet at the Red Lion for lunch and a walk, unfortunately when we arrived they were fully booked. My parents were walking from Blakeney with friends and were going to be over an hour and a half, so my husband and I started to leave when a staff member ran out to tell us that a table had just opened up. We asked how big and she told us it was just for two people, so we decided to stay for lunch as we were hungry and they were finishing serving at 2pm and it was already 1:30pm. We had the roast chicken, potatoes, kale and broccoli for two with pigs in blankets on the side for our mains and the white chocolate cremeux and a cheeseboard for dessert. My husband said it was the best roast chicken he had ever had. The service was exceptional considering how busy the pub was. Every member of staff was kind and happy to help us with everything. I cannot wait to come back to this pub again!
A nice pub with friendly and very helpful service. Nicely decorated and plenty of places to sit inside and out ...... it's also dog friendly. My only criticism would be the food, although it was well cooked and very tasty, the main course was the size of a normal pub starter and expensive at £23.00 for a very small portion of pork belly. It's a shame that we both felt the food was not good value for money.
First rate food beautifully cooked and presented. Menu is reassuringly short so everything is prepared fresh and to a high standard; think high end restaurant rather than pub grub. If you want a huge choice of cheap and cheerful freezer to microwave food served up by 'chef ping' this is not the place to go. Staff were attentive in an unfussy way. Very impressed. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't return the following night as they were fully booked.
