Named after the Sir Walter Scott novel, a stunning listed pub, dating back to 1904.
You'd be hard pushed to find a finer real ale pub in Rose Street Edinburgh. In fact, we believe The Kenilworth is unrivalled in its choice of quality cask-conditioned beers and carefully compiled menu of British pub dishes. For directions to our landmark pub, see the interactive map to the right.
Great pub, great staff, great food and even better beers! Love coming to The Kenilworth try and visit as much as I can staff are always friendly, helpful and up for a chat if it’s not too busy! Food is always good, and offers a wide selection of Scottish classics and traditional pub food.
Really beautiful pub with a great selection of cask ales and gins. Staff were really friendly and food came quickly. I got the fish and chips and not only was it delicious but the portion size was bigger than expected - good value for money.
We order the special Christmas menu. The food was very tasty and well-cooked. Also, the waitress asked us if we had any allergies and all was adapted to lactose-free. But in the other hand, the company should put more people working in the festive period, as we waited 30 minutes between the starter and the main course, and you could see that in the kitchen there was just one chef who was very busy with all the orders. The vibe was very festive. no crackers were given on the menu. Also, The drinks were quite expensive, 9£ for a whisky. Overall, good experience which could improve with some small changes.
Had a couple of drinks here and an amazing pie (at 21.45 I was surprised they still served but I am glad they did, that pie was great!). Atmosphere was nice, seating not optimal but they made do with the space they have. Service was acceptable, spoke to a barman who was very helpful but also overheard some people talking about how obvious it was that one person clearly didnt like their job, which I noticed too, maybe just a bad day :). Would go back for more pie and drinks, though with so many options around I will try some other places before I can judge what I liked most.
Came with a group for dinner and drinks. Located on Rose Street in Edinburgh. Good selections of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We also had dinner and I ordered the sausage mash which was quite tasty. Their haggis is also quite good. Overall we had a good experience here and definitely would recommend.
