The Grapes is a traditional little shop located in the Newington area of Edinburgh...decent local crowd, reasonably priced, attentive friendly staff, live music most weekends (I think). Always worth a visit.
Loved this pub good selection of spirits and beers very clean and friendly clientele and staff not expensive for Edinburgh and the music that was playing is all stuff I would have chosen thoroughly enjoyed my time and would definitely return. Just been back and it's still as good and highly recommend
Nipped in for a pint before Jerry Sadowitz gig next door in Queen' Hall. Decent pint of tennent's priced at £4.10.
One of the few old school pubs around, great prices on beers, friendly locals plenty seats and all the live football on telly, the place seems to have a reputation, but never had any problems there and always got some great conversations with the locals there.
Was in Edinburgh on a stag weekend from Cork City Ireland with 15 other guys, we arrive late Friday but the Staff and locals were very friendly had a few drinks before moving on with a bit of helpful advise from the staff regarding late night bars,we returned Sat morning for All Black's versus Australia rugby on TV again the bar staff were very professional the Guinness was as good as you get back home.good value and welcoming atmosphere.
