The moment I Liverpool had won the Carabao cup fixture against West Ham I immediately looked at a place to stay for the Fulham match. Stumbled upon The Flat Iron, looked decent and cheap so I booked it. I came up for game day, walked through the door and the place was buzzing. Great atmosphere, Guinness's flowing and friendly staff. Got escorted to my room and I was pleasantly surprised. The room was a decent size, decent bed, lovely bathroom had a nice town house feel to it with the high ceilings too. Chilled in the room for a while before the game. After a simply lovely comeback against Fulham I walked back and again the pub was buzzing. Got a celebration pint where maybe I shouldn't be all that surprised coming from an Irish pub but it was a great pour of Guinness. Proceeded to chat to the staff and had myself a lovely time. After a couple I went back up to my room to get my head down for the night where I could still hear the buzz of the pub. I initially didn't think the bed was that comfy but the 9 o'clock wake tells me other wise. Slept like a baby. I do however have a couple of points to mention. The room I was in the temperature knob on the shower was very very stiff. I had to summon my inner hulk to get it to a reasonable temperature which was a tad annoying. Parking also was a problem. Now thankfully I know a couple of free spots around the ground so it wasn't a huge issue but I think it is something to bring up. It does say on Expedia who I booked it through that there is parking available off site, I couldn't find any such parking. This is more of a suggestion than a complaint but maybe when the room is book a map or postcode could be included so there is no confusion. Overall though, my stay was very pleasant and when I'm up for another game I'll be returning for sure! Would definitely recommend!
Stayed here last night while going to Liverpool v West Ham game …… great spot . Lads & ladies behind the bar doing a great job . Pub packed to the rafters …. Great atmosphere. Would defo recommend staying here if your going to a Liverpool game ! 🥳
Our experience with The Flat Iron has been nothing short of a nightmare. We booked a room at this establishment and had to change our plans due to circumstances beyond our control, specifically the cancellation of a major event in the area (Liverpool vs Everton game). We reached out to them for assistance and were met with complete disregard and unprofessionalism. Not only did they ask for alternative dates and raise our hopes of a resolution, but they also failed to communicate any deadline for our response. When we provided alternative dates promptly, they backtracked and decided not to make the change, leaving us in limbo. Their uncooperative attitude and the complete lack of customer service left us with no choice but to consider leaving a negative review. We reached out multiple times to address our concerns, but our attempts were met with silence. It's evident that they have no intention of providing a reasonable resolution. In the end, it's clear that this establishment values its policies more than its customers. We strongly advise potential guests to think twice before booking with The Flat Iron. If you ever encounter unforeseen circumstances that affect your plans, don't expect any understanding or assistance here. We were left high and dry, and we hope our experience serves as a warning to others.
I was there to film a scene for a drama, only saw the downstairs bar and the function room upstairs. Nice big function room and the bar is amazing. Lots and lots of football, The Beatles and other paraphernalia adornig walls and ceilings. One ceiling is an awesome football pitch with penalty spot an football lightshade. Absolutely Fabulous
My pre match go to pub, always great service and they know how to pull a pint of Guinness properly, please try you won't be disappointed
