About us

The Green Man pub is a traditional British London pub in Euston serving great freshly cooked traditional pub food. We also serve a fantastic range of beers from around the world, warming red and crisp white wines and a fantastic selection of spirits, and situated next to Great Portland Street tube station in London NW1. London itself has 30 pubs with name Green Man.

The original name comes from images in churches of a face peering through made of leaves and petals. But, the Green Man in more modern times is associated with Robin Hood and his men dressed in Lincoln green cloth. Euston Road, which the pub sits on, is part of the 'New Road' from Paddington to Islington and was opened in 1756. It was London's first bypass through the fields to North London. Originally the road was built to provide a route for sheep and cattle to be driven to the famous Smithfield Market and for this reason the road ended at Islington where it joined the existing St Johns Street.

Euston Road links onto Tottenham Court Road and during the 1960s office developments grew around this junction including the Euston Tower skyscraper that now forms part of Regent's Place, attracting a number of significant tenants, most notably the former ITV broadcaster Thames Television who had its corporate headquarters there, as well as a number of other studios from 1970 to 1993.The road provided a quicker route for army units to exit London.

Excellent pub with friendly staff. Great food and for the location the price of the drinks were bang on in my opinion. Held a private party there and no one bothered us. Well managed pub and it’s a lovely location for a cold one after walking around Regent’s Park.

The Green (should that be Greene?) Man is a delightful pub in the heart of Euston, right next to Gt. Portland Street Station. Service is great and the general atmosphere is welcoming. The interior layout is quirky but easy on the eye, bare bricks and balustrades everywhere. It is all good!

Unfortunately the most disappointing and foul tasting roast we have had. We are local customers and when we mentioned about the food we were dismissed - they collected the plates and walked off whilst I was telling them that I was very disappointed in the food quality. The beef was over half fat and tasted like fish. The chicken was undercooked in a few places and not a lot of meat present. Wouldn’t recommend 🥴 After approaching the manager 30 minutes after initially raising the issue she was very apologetic and offered us a refund although this wasn’t what we were wanting by complaining.

A clean, well-decorated pub on the busy intersection around the Great Portland Street Tube station. Quiet when I stopped in around noon on a Thursday. Had a pint of bitter from cask and it was delicious. Good pour but quite pricey, the most expensive pint I’ve had in London so far. Not the friendliest bartender but maybe he was just getting started for the day and needed time.

Great ambiance thanks for all of the staff. They were very energetic and helpful with a big smile 😀 o their hearts. The ambiance is trendy and mostly office workers. Interior decoration is very nice to feel you are at 18th century. Good for friends meet up before 4:30. The pub will be start crowded after that.
