It’s a gem of a place, once found do not forget. Well established wine bar& dining group, one of if not the oldest family owned in London. Very good wine list and menu, staff have good knowledge of wines and food, are polite and friendly offering extremely good service.
One of the best value wine bar and restaurant in Piccadilly. The service is the greatest I have seen for a long time ! The food and wines were excellent. Well managed old institution... Thank you.
Eight friends and I dined here last Friday night, in the smaller of the two exquisite private dining rooms. Whenever I dine here I enjoy the quiet and unassuming, but friendly, efficient and assured service and hospitality from the internatiinal team. The lower ground floor bar is a characterful and historic oasis in central London, the smaller dining room is charming and cocooning, the raised ground floor dining room is like being transported back to the formal dining room in a Georgian residence.
5* as a great pub compared to some of the options in the area. Great place in the winter, warm , cozy, tucked away from the elements. Good beer selection as well as wines. Have only sampled the bar food menu but as can be seen it’s up to scratch .
Very nice warm & welcoming atmosphere. Historic part of London. No problem booking a table for 5 at 6.30pm on a Wednesday however the restaurant was well used and a steady trade of diners throughout the night. Food was excellent and reasonable (starters and main course for 5 with two bottles of wine came to £220 inclusive of service charge). I will definitely go back.
