About us

Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.

Deep in London's theatre district, The Cambridge is popular with audiences and actors alike. Built in 1887 on the site of The King's Arms, it is next to the Palace Theatre, formerly the Royal English Opera House. The Cambridge lies in the heart of Soho, a royal hunting ground in the days of Henry VIII. We bet you didn't know that Soho takes its name from a hunting call.

The Cambridge is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.

We had a really nice time dining here. The Staff was really nice and the Food was really good. We ate Meat Pie, Fish Pie and Fish and Chips. All 3 Dishes were really good. I recommend you to reserve the Table in advance. It's really easy doing that online on their Website.

I know they’re famous for their pies, but this honestly is one of the best pubs to eat a steak in London. I’ve been here a few times and it never disappoints. Gorgeous food.

We came here after a very busy night to wind down at the end, and I had a bowl of tomato soup and a pint of Nicholson. The server was great, he managed quite a large room solo, and still took the time to answer all of our questions about the drink selection, menu options, and the building itself. Even though we only had a small amount of food, I would definitely recommend checking it out!

The Cambridge Pub is a hidden gem for beer lovers. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The selection of beers is impressive, with a wide variety of craft brews and traditional favorites to choose from. But it's not just the quantity of beers that sets this pub apart, it's the quality. Each pint is poured with care and precision, resulting in a delicious and refreshing experience. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to recommend a new beer or offer their expertise. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just looking for a great place to relax with friends, The Cambridge Pub is the perfect spot.

Only gets 4 stars as it only has toilets upstairs hence went to the loo in the theatre. I ordered the steak and I asked it to be cooked blue - cooked perfectly, the salad had a lovely dressing and the chips were crisp. The pub has a lovely atmosphere. My older brother introduced me to The Cambridge in 2009 when I lived in London.
