About us

If you'd dropped in at this west London pub in the late 1830s, you'd have said its name was more than fitting. With its segregation of the classes (and the sexes) it must have been like experiencing Queen Victoria's court. Today the Windsor Castle attracts a much more chilled crowd from Kensington, Notting Hill and Holland Park, who're tempted in by our delicious pub food and impressive range of speciality drinks.

We like to think The Windsor Castle is much more than just a blimmin' great place to eat and drink in Kensington. It's a relaxing retreat for all, offering an almost encyclopaedic range of world beers, wines and spirits alongside fresh, seasonal pub food dishes, and a good helping of our own inimitable charm.

Looking for a good pub that's close to Notting Hill, Holland Park or Ladbrook Grove? Here we are! The Windsor Castle is also near The Serpentine in Hyde Park and Kensington Palace 1 mile, making us ideal for a spot of lunch or dinner while out seeing the sights in Kensington.

We had a great experience here at The Windsor Castle Pub, great food, we wanted to try fish and chips and the leek pie.

Beautiful, quite secluded little pub in a great spot. Elegantly festive at Christmas time and a really cosy vibe.

The pub is lovely inside but unfortunately we had a bad experience. I've tried to contact them twice since and haven't had a response so here we are. I ordered a medium glass of merlot. The server said they were out of merlot, so I just said whatever the house was - I'm not fussy. The server suggested one and brought it. It was fine, not my taste. My friend came and ordered the same as me. We had burgers, they were fine, service was quite slow but they let us stay longer than our booking time. When we got the bill, I saw that the two medium 'house' wines came to over £30. I was shocked and queried it and the server (different to the lady who initially served us) said 'yes we are out of house wine and only have the expensive wine left'. So without asking or telling us, we had been given extortionate wine instead of the house, which I would never have ordered. Bear in mind this was a Saturday evening so 'only having expensive wine' seems bizarre. We should have been warned and I would never have bought it, or the expensive wine should have been charged the house price as that was what I ordered. It's pretty disgusting and deceitful so I won't be returning and would encourage others to check what they are buying very carefully.

Historic London pub, with ' class dividers' between rooms still in place (which were made to make you ' bow' when entering a higher class room) Lovely outdoor (covered) seating too with blankets and hot water bottles available! Good selection of drinks and food on offer.

Cozy place, for tranquil people. Good fish and great salad. Nice terrace in the back. Very convenient if you go to Portobello Market. A little bit expensive.
