Located in the pretty streets behind Notting Hill Tube station, the Hillgate is a local pub with great food. The menu has a seasonal focus, serving fresh British produce.
The selection of real ales from around the country are rotated regularly keeping the selection fresh and interesting. We love wine and have accrued an extensive cellar of wines from around the world.

This is a lovely pub, and I have actually had lots of great meals here. Unfortunately, the food on this occasion was not great. Cold food, hard potatoes and slow service, although waiters were polite and nice, just under-staffed unfortunately. I would actually return here for lunch and / or dinner as the good meals / experiences I’ve had here definitely out number this experience.
If you are looking for a dog friendly pub with a great relaxed atmosphere, brilliant service and top notch tasty food then look no further than this lovely pub in Notting Hill. We all had the Sunday roast and I had to treat myself with the sticky toffee pudding which was fantastic. I will be back for sure!
A disappointing visit to somewhere we've become to regard as our local, and are regular visitors to, to bring friends and family as it's usually excellent. Service was incredibly slow, with a 45 min wait just for our drinks to arrive. It felt as though there weren't enough staff to cope with demand. We had the Sunday roasts, pork belly and vegetarian wellington. The trimmings were small, half a carrot, 1 whole onion, a cold Yorkshire pudding and cabbage that was way too over flavoured with star anise or something like that. Not great overall, and we hope for better service and food in future of we go back.
The Hillgate is a lovely and lively place. Slightly hidden but still may be quite busy. Great food and nice selection of drinks. Excellent service.
