Dripping in flowers and crammed with Churchill memorabilia, The Churchill Arms is one of London’s most recognisable and famous watering holes. Built in 1750, the pub was frequented by Churchill’s grandparents. Nowadays, it’s known for serving real ales and authentic Thai cuisine.
Lovely pub. The ambiance was lively and traditional. A nice experience if you're visiting London. The beer was very good! We loved the decor. It is truly one of a kind.
When I called up the restaurant that I wished to come on 29dec2023 to their pub for a drink during Christmas and the reception answered that they were full and asked me to do online reservations. Then, I proceeded to do online booking and secure a table on 15jan2024. When I turned up for the reservation, I was shocked that we were redirected to its thai kitchen seating rather than pub seating. We ordered green curry and beer there. We supposed to come to enjoy the pub feel but end up eating Thai food. Green curry was below par. It didn't pose the authentic Thai green curry fragrance. The chicken slices lacked of the bounciness. 2 star Stir vegetables also, too plain in taste. 1 star The prawn roll was mediocre. Good to take along with beer. 3 stars As told by the waiter the waiter, we were only allowed maximum 1 hour in the restaurant. We leave in 30 minutes actually My lesson: next time just come for beer and not food
The Churchill Arms Thai restaurant offers a variety of flavorful dishes, particularly their commendable curry and spring rolls. The food quality meets expectations and presents a satisfying dining experience. However, during my visit, I observed a disparity in service. While the food was enjoyable, the interaction with one staff member felt somewhat unprofessional and uncomfortable. This inconsistency in service based on different customers' backgrounds (race) could potentially affect the overall dining experience for some patrons.
Cute and cozy vibes in the pub, a little cold in the back with the restaurant and very different feel. Food was ok, but lacked flavor and was overall plain. Cute and cozy inside vibes! Pretty much everything on the Thai menu cost 13£, pretty reasonable.
Reluctantly, I have to score this place 5 Stars all around - the reason is I don't want it too crowded or change from what is the best pub I have ever been to. Terry built a gleaming tower of quality and friendliness that no other pub has yet done. It stands today, in my book, as the Best Ever pub I have experienced all around. Peace
