Heritage pub. Great place for bourbon whiskey lovers . They have a good collection of Jack Daniels. We had beer , not sure about food. They are maintaining the same old structure, so feel little suffocation when it is crowded. I love the open space behind the pub

Excellent Manchester pub about 20 minutes walk from Piccadilly Station. Five cask beers on handpump when I last visited including a porter. There is also a selection of up to 360 whiskeys and bourbons. Lots of outdoor seating in the garden to the rear, some of it covered. The pub is a Grade II-listed 200-year-old multi-roomed hostelry listed on CAMRA’s National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. It is famous for its highly ornate interior, a terrazzo-tiled corridor floor, moulded ceiling, original 1930s urinals and the serving hatch through which people in the two rear rooms are served beer from the front bar. The moulded ceiling picked out in red and gold is another feature. The name comes from the pub's history as an army recruitment venue and murals depict the Peterloo Massacre which happened nearby.

Another great Manchester pub with a heritage interior. 2 minutes from the Peveril of the Peak. Decent choice of real ales. Had a good chat with the landlord.

Loved my visit last night, been dying to come here for some time now and finally made it down. I think it was Dave and Justine were class bartenders and really enjoyed my chat with them both. I managed to try pretty much every single jack Daniels while I was in there and they was grand.

I go upto Manchester at least twice a year for a bit of disco dancing or to watch the greatest football team the world has ever seen. But there has been one pub that has eluded me in my many visits to Manchester and it's the little firecracker that goes under the name of @thebritonsprotection There are so many things to love about this Grade II listed behemoth of a public house. ▪️The multiroom madness ▪️The huge whisky range ▪️Fantastic cask selection ▪️The delicious ceiling decoration ▪️The double sided bar The absolute best thing is the warm and welcoming northern atmosphere you encounter when you walk through the door. Get yourself to this pub on the double.
