Avoid..The place is a morgue

Don't tell the wife (or husband for that matter) but this is an ideal place to take the ageing Mother-in-law in preperation for the morgue. It's dull, dreary and lacking in any sort of atmosphere.

Located in Elstree (on the whole a wealthy place) it appears the owners are seeking to attract the type of clientele who have very little to say, let alone indulge in any sort of banter. It is nothing more than a boring restaurant with a smidgeon of pub about it.

Food is average (at best), beer equally so but the high prices hardly reflect this. It has a certain 'feel' about it, one which suggests the owner/landlord is seeking one last stab at making it work before it has to close. It's a real shame as it's the only place left in a village which once boasted four pubs. In my opinion it has gone completely in the wrong direction. Bring back the pub I say, with good beer, great atmosphere and an enjoyable place to be....Sadly, for this place, those times appear to be long gone....Avoid.
