BANANA WHARF
Southampton docks has been synonymous with the banana trade since the 1880s, when the famous Fyffe Company started to import bananas into the UK from the West Indies. The flagship Banana Wharf opened in Ocean Village, Southampton over 15 years ago and our name was born from the history and heritage that surrounds our waters. The large, decorative murals depicting the industry in full flow can be seen inside all Banana Wharf venues.
Good breakfast and dinner service. The breakfast is affordable and they offer unlimited tea and coffee which is nice. Staff are very attentive and helpful. The dinner menu is slightly more expensive but still fantastic. Large portions and good quality food.
My partner & I went in today for a look around with a view to eating there in the future. The staff were very welcoming and didn't mind us looking around at all. I look forward to eating there soon.
Had a really nice lunch here. Food was excellent, really big portions, and very good quality, very tasty. Staff were brilliant and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I have only scored low on atmosphere as it was quite a quiet time when we visited. Great place to eat 👍
Lovely place by the water. We were worried that it would be full when we couldn't reserve a table for 1.30 or 1.45 on a sunny Saturday but on arrival there was more than ample space, so don't be put off and if driving a long way maybe just give them a call. Chicken katsu burger was just ok, but the green curry with chicken was lovely (and massive), and kids fajitas came with 3 tortillas and more than enough fillings for a grown adult so could potentially feed 2 kids. Service was decent, and views were lovely but think they just need to invest a tiny bit more into the decor (and cleaning of the disabled bathroom) to make this place as five star as the views. Full of potential, just requires a few tweaks - well done to the team on the efforts to-date! We will probably be back in future visits to the area.
Absolutely stunning view! You’re sat facing the waters and boats. Benches outside to sit and soak in the atmosphere. Lovely food choice and variety here as well. You’re almost spoilt with choice. The staff was helpful and responsive. They were happy to recommend best dishes considering the relevant allergies. Food was very tasty and timely. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Drinks were also brought in good time. Absolutely recommend
