Great food - everything seemed like it was made on the premises! To be really nit-picky, it seemed my risotto rice was very slightly undercooked, and the wait staff forgot to bring out my custard with my dessert. But the custard was resolved instantly, and the rice just shows that it is actually made on site! Staff were friendly, and when we asked to have a drink for 15 mins before we order, they were happy, and our waitress was friendly. They were missing a few items from the menu, but I think that was because we were at the dinner service on a Sunday, so they were starting to run out after a busy weekend. This didn't detract from our experience, as what we chose was really nice. My only feedback would have been to have been told what wasn't available before we chose it.

For a second year in a row I visited this quaint pub on Burns Night with pals. The menu was filled with tempting dishes. Every course was delicious, the refreshing whisky & elderflower cordial was heavenly and the staff were warm and friendly... very reasonably priced. We will return next year dressed in our tartan bests.

First visit to this pub. A bit off the beaten track so we thought it would be worth investigating to sample their breakfast/ brunch offering. There was ample parking and easy flat access to the rear door off the carpark. When we entered there was an open fire and all appeared well set up. There was plenty of seating and no other tables in use when we arrived. All seemed positive and welcoming. At this point we were approached my a smartly dressed member of staff who enquired whether we had booked. A little bemused and noting the empty tables we said no, we thought we’d drop in and see what the food and general atmosphere was like. Sadly at this point we were informed that having not booked we could not be accommodated. The kitchen we were told, was already unable to cope with preparations for New Years Eve and so without having booked could not accept any further orders. There was then a slightly awkward silence as we realised it probably best we left. With the final words “next time book” we vacated and returned to our car. Appreciate this time of year can be stressful and with hind sight we should have booked. Our error, however I doubt we will return.

Sunday before Christmas, family meal for 7. We had a lovely time, the food was great, the service was quick and our waitress, Sue, was absolutely brilliant. She was extremely kind and thoughtful, ensuring my elderly mum was catered for. All the other staff that came to our table were equally as great. We will definitely visit again.

A great cozy country pub. We had a pub lunch near Christmas; the decorations were very festive. The staff were friendly and attentive. The portions were huge for the roast dinners we chose, with melt-in-the-mouth turkey, and lovely vegetables. But the roast potatoes didn't seem so great, and were greasy.
