About us

A quality independent inn at the heart of Churchdown Village, owned by Matt Wark and Sarah Porter since April 2016, using locally sourced food, prepared and made in our kitchen. Local and national ales served and en-suite bed and breakfast rooms available. Large gardens and car parks, open fires and a warm welcome all year round

While we serve fantastic food, we’re a pub at heart – and that means a superb array of drinks. At the bar you’ll find a great selection of real ales and ciders (again with plenty of local representation) and an extensive wine list.

What a great pub. The food is locally sourced, they do themed nights like burger nights or curry and quiz. They serve drinks table service. They do a quiz on a Thursday evening which is tough but fun and it really is one to try Sunday lunch is very popular with a range of meat options and vegetarian too. The ambience of the pub is really very nice, there is parking outside and the cleanliness of the pub is servings to non. Revisited on the 21st had a couple of nice beers. Great place and nice ambience

First time I have been in the Old Elm Inn, and loved it, fabulous roast dinner. Was very busy, but we were accommodated. Pet friendly my dog was given treats and a bowl of water. Highly recommend

Felt compelled to write a review after reading some others and having now visited the Old Elm. We aren't local and picked the pub purely on location. The food was delicious and in generous portions. All the good signs were there; proper steak knives, vegetables cooked with bite, an interesting range of vegetables, incredible crackling on the pork roast, plenty of stuff on the walls to look at and every seat was filled. The play area out the back was a bonus, as was the colouring and books made available for children. The ambience was friendly, staff went out of their way to help us. Service was prompt whilst not making us feel rushed, even though they were clearly very busy. The children's meal portion was huge and it was carefully double wrapped in foil when I asked if we could take the leftovers home. Overall, we were all impressed and I would absolutely recommend!

For my brother's birthday meal, really disappointed. Usually a good meal. Chips greasy, gammon ham greasy, did complain, only got a bowl of chips deducted of the bill. Over priced, won't be going again.

Ordered the vegan roast, was delivered the veggie roast. Despite having a vegan specials night once a week the regular menu is a bit scarce for vegan options with no readily available allergy information. Ordered the vegan roast, they brought out a veggie one, I realised because it had cauliflower cheese on the plate. Asked for it to be changed and it was, very quickly, but these sorts of mistakes should be avoided.
